Dear Liz and John,
We wanted to thank you for such a lovely stay with you at Skibo House on March 9 and 10, 2007.
Our visit with you both, and John's graciousness in showing us his sheep, were special highlights of our trip which, by its very nature, was filled with highlights.
As we made our way around the South Island, seeing all of the beautiful scenery, and going to all of the "tourist" spots, we realized how special it was to have stayed with you early in the trip.
We truly appreciated your lovely home and your hospitality. We shall never forget you, and if ever we know of anyone who will be going your way, you can be sure we will recommend that they stay with you!
We particularly remember your Burmese cats, and I think of them as I gaze at our own lovely Burmese cats. Our little female, Minbu, is on my lap now, as she always is when I am at the computer.
Now that we are entering spring, her brother, Teak, is hunting in the fields daily for gophers (a burrowing rodent that eats roots).
Just let one disturb the ground as he digs and Teak will wait patiently nearby, until the gopher sticks his head out of his hole.
Then, quick as a wink, Teak grabs him! He usually eats the gophers, but sometimes shares them with Kit, another of our cats (not a Burmese). You must be getting ready for ski season now. We hope you have a good winter, and wish you all the best.
